Compete with the people who actually make you show up.
Vitals Versus is a competitive fitness app for steps, workouts, weight loss, sleep, and meal logging. Challenge your friends, your coworkers, or your entire gym — scores sync from Apple Health and Health Connect, so most of it happens without you touching anything.
Android — join the beta
Android is in closed testing, so it takes two steps. Play only shows the app to accounts in the tester group.
- Join the tester group — use the same Google account your phone's Play Store is signed in to.
- Give it a couple of minutes. Play takes a moment to notice. (These open in a new tab, so this list stays put.)
- Open Vitals Versus on Google Play and install as normal.
If Play says the item isn't available, it's almost always the wrong Google account, or Play hasn't caught up yet. Wait a few minutes and try again.
Six ways to compete
Every challenge runs for one or more weeks. At the end of each week, participants are ranked and the top three earn gold, silver, and bronze medals. Medals accumulate into a season-long standing, so one bad week doesn't knock you out.
Steps
Total steps over the week wins, counted by your phone or fitness tracker. Nothing to log — if you carry your phone, you are already competing.
Workouts
Track running, cycling, strength training, or any workout type your phone records. Compete on total time or on number of sessions, so an hour of cycling and three short lifts can both be the winning week.
Weight loss
Everyone sets their own target weight, and the leaderboard ranks on how far along your own goal you are — so someone with 5 kg to lose competes evenly with someone who has 30. Your weigh-ins stay yours — other participants see how far along your goal you are, not the number on the scale.
Sleep
Hit a healthy sleep window — say 7–9 hours a night — and earn a point for every adherent night. Too little or too much both score zero. Sleep syncs automatically from Apple Watch, Fitbit, Oura, or any wearable that writes to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Meal tracking
Build the habit of logging your meals. Log three meals a day and earn a point for that day. Calories and macros come along for the ride from MacroFactor, MyFitnessPal, Cronometer, Lose It!, or any nutrition app that writes to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Lifestyle
Several habits at once, scored together. Pick a ready-made bundle — steps and sleep, steps and workouts, or all five — and every day you hit each target earns a point. Weight counts as weigh-ins here, not pounds lost, so nobody is punished for a heavy Tuesday. Good for a gym that wants members doing more than one thing.

Up and running in five minutes
Get the app
Vitals Versus is in closed testing — grab it from the buttons at the top of this page. iPhone goes through TestFlight; Android needs you in the tester group first. Connect Apple Health or Health Connect if you want automatic tracking, or skip it and log manually.
Join or create a challenge
Enter a join code from a friend or organization, or create your own. Pick steps, workouts, weight loss, sleep, or meal tracking, set the duration, and invite people.
Compete and see results every Monday
Your data syncs throughout the week. Every Monday, scores are tallied, medals are awarded, and you get a weekly review with your ranking, trends, and season standing.
How we make money, since it isn't from you
Gyms and workplaces pay a subscription for the dashboard. That is the whole business model — we don't sell your data and we don't run ads, because we don't need to.
